Alicia Taylor

Software Engineer

About Me

I’m a Tennessee native with a lifelong calling to ministry and service. I originally planned to become a Christian missionary and began working with computers at WebMD, where I gained hands-on programming experience. My academic path shifted from Spanish to Classical Guitar and Music Composition—but God had other plans.

After walking through deep trauma and disability, I entered monastic life as a Theravada Buddhist nun. That journey, by God’s grace, ultimately led me back to my Christian roots. I am now an ecumenical Christian nun with a heart for discipleship, accessibility, and digital ministry.

I’ve pursued full-stack web development, accessibility standards, and information architecture through intensive online study. I currently hold several certifications and am earning a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science through IT Institute, along with a second degree in Christian Leadership from Christian Leaders Institute.

My goal is to use software engineering as a tool for the Kingdom—building accessible, Spirit-led platforms for teaching, community, and outreach.

The projects in this portfolio include both class assignments and personal ministry-focused creations.
